About the vintage : An opulent vintage, marked by the high ripeness of the grapes and great aging potential. Thanks to the rains at the end of August, the vines produced a bountiful harvest of excellent quality. The whites are ripe, rich, and powerful. Tasted a few months after bottling, the wines tend to mellow, retaining their rich fruitiness and developing a slight toasty and mineral reduction, typical of great Chardonnays. The Pinot Noirs are very ripe, with a deep ruby color and abundant tannic structure: in some vintages, they sometimes take on southern accents!
Terroir : Plot located halfway up the hillside, in a fairly flat area, facing southeast. The clay-limestone soil is brown and very stony, fairly deep, and retains the same structure as the surface soil. Average age of vines: 35 years.
Cultivation method : The vines are cultivated biodynamically. In the spring, we stimulated microbial life in our soils using dynamized preparations such as 500: horn manure, 500 P: prepared horn manure. During the growing season, in addition to our copper and sulfur treatments, we sprayed decoctions of horsetail, nettles, willow, and silica, which have energizing and protective properties that help the plants resist disease. Natural grass cover and mechanical cultivation. The vines are pruned using the single Guyot method with long canes and debudded every other bud, so that the bunches are beautiful and well-aerated.
Vinification : 100% destemmed harvest, followed by traditional vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Fermentation lasts approximately 15 days.
Aging : 12 to 15 months in oak barrels, 30% of which are new
