About the vintage : A vintage of opulence, marked by the great maturity of the grapes with great aging potential. Thanks to the rains at the end of August, the vine has produced both abundant and very good quality. The whites are ripe, rich, and powerful. Tasted a few months after setting, the wines tend to become more seasoned, retaining the richness of their fruitiness and developing a slight toasted and mineral reduction, typical of great Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir are very ripe, with a dark ruby color and an abundant tannic structure: on some cuvées they sometimes take on southern accents!
Le Terroir : This plot is located in the middle hillside, in the center of the village of ALOXE-CORTON. It is sheltered by a Clos. The soil is reddish and stony, chalky brown, rich in marl and potash.
The cultivation method : The vines are grown in biodynamics. In the spring we stimulated the microbial life of our soils using dynamized preparations such as 500: horn dung, 500 P: prepared horn dung. During the vegetative period and in addition to our treatments with copper and sulfur, we sprayed decoctions of horsetail, nettles, wicker and silica that have dynamizing powers and protective on the plant against diseases. Natural weeding of the soil and mechanical work. The vines are pruned in a simple guyot with long chopsticks and disbudded every other eye, thus the clusters end up beautiful and airy.
Vinification : Grapes harvested by hand in crates, sorted on a sorting table and destemmed at 100%, the whole berries are brought to tanks in small stainless steel wagons so as not to crush the raw material. Traditional Burgundian vinification, in open thermoregulated vats.
Aging : 15 months, including 12 months under wood (30% was new). Slight filtration before bottling. Entire harvest 30%.
