About the vintage : A hot, dry year with three heat waves: late June, July, and late August. The grapes were in perfect health, but yields were moderate due to the summer drought. The white wines are rich and ripe, yet refined and well-balanced, as the grapes retained a good level of tartaric acid. A great vintage for Pinot Noir, which produced intense, ripe, balanced, and very refined wines.

Terroir : This is a carefully selected blend from two Mercurey vineyards, which have quite different characteristics in certain respects. The grapes for the Printemps cuvée come mainly from the Montelons plot, located on the Mercurey plateau opposite Rully. It is fairly high in altitude, with cool temperatures and clay soils. As a result, the grapes retain a lovely freshness, which is used to create this cuvée with its crisp, delicious fruitiness. The blend is made with a smaller proportion of grapes from our Les Vaux plot, where the vines are quite old, perfectly exposed, and produce denser grapes. The L'Automne cuvée is the reverse proportion.

Cultivation method : The vines are grown organically. Mechanical soil cultivation. They are pruned using the single Guyot method with long canes and every other bud removed, resulting in beautiful, well-spaced bunches.

Vinification : Grapes harvested by hand in crates, sorted on a sorting table and 100% destemmed, the whole berries are conveyed directly into vats so as not to crush the raw material. Traditional Burgundy vinification in temperature-controlled open vats.

Aging : Aged for 10 months in wooden vats
